Final review before Slack

Install Beckett for Slack

Slack will say “App is not approved by Slack”

Slack will show “App is not approved by Slack” while Beckett completes its public beta and Marketplace eligibility testing. This means Slack has not completed its Marketplace review; it does not mean the installation is blocked. Review the permissions below and continue only if you are comfortable installing the beta app.

Permissions you will be asked to approve

  • commandsReceive /beckett commands

Starts coaching only when someone invokes Beckett.

  • chat:writePost Beckett's replies

Lets Beckett reply with coaching and manage only messages Beckett created.

  • assistant:writeRun Beckett's Slack assistant

Updates the private Beckett thread, status, title, and suggested prompts.

  • im:historyContinue the exact Beckett DM thread

Re-reads the private Beckett thread from Slack when you continue it; Beckett does not copy the transcript into its database.

  • im:writeOpen a private Beckett conversation

Creates or opens the direct conversation between you and Beckett.

  • users:readRecognize the person asking

Uses Slack identity for routing and display without storing Slack profile content.

No Beckett account is required. The workspace installation will start with Beckett's guest allowance, and each person can optionally link an account later from Slack.

Your workspace may require administrator approval. By continuing, you will leave Beckett and review Slack's own authorization screen before anything is installed.
